The Body Glove case shattered upon impact when dropped from a height of about 1 foot onto the hardwood floor in my apartment. The phone was fine because it landed on an area rug, but the case was destroyed. One foot drop. Not acceptable.Enter the Otterbox Commuter Case. It was highly rated, but it was also quite pricey. No matter, I wanted something to protect my phone which I use mulitple time daily - so the cost was justified. The Otterbox came in a three-piece system: screen protector, silicone condom sleeve, and hard plastic outer shell. I was pleased to find that they were packaged professionally but yet easy to open so you don't find yourself stabbing the package aimlessly with scissors because they heat-sealed the plastic shut on the edges. What's Inside: 1 black, silicone (and very nice quality I might add) cases, 1 black hard case which goes over the silicone, and 1 screen protector which I have heard has some similarities to or is made out of Kevlar, but I may have misunderstood the conversation. Quality: The black silicone case is very high quality and fits the phone perfectly. The hard case fits directly around the silicone case and forms almost like a little "nest" for your phone. It is the BEST case to purchase for the money if you want to protect your valuable electronics. I first purchased the Defender case and boy will it PROTECT your phone!!! If you are hard on your cell phone, the Defender case is the case to get. If you are more gentle than the Commuter case with be fine. I will go over both the Defender case as well as the Commuter case with you.The Defender case is basically comprised of two hard pastic casings that you put one on the front of the phone and one on the back of the phone. The front casing has a hard plastic cover that protects the entire phone screen. You push these two casings together to close the hard casing aspect of the case and then stretch a rubber covering around the entire phone, except for the front of it. lol The rubber overlay covers the entire back of the phone as well as the edges of the phone.
